The Outer Banks is an extremely popular fishing locale due to the rich waters surrounding the area. We have a huge variety of fish here and many destinations for fishing trips, so you can find a trip and a fish to suit you no matter what time of year you come. The Outer Banks are a string of several islands stretching down the North Carolina coast, separated from the mainland by a large body of water called Albemarle Sound, Roanoke Sound, or Pamlico Sound depending on where you are. So around here you can experience the thrill of offshore and nearshore fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, the challenge of the waters at Oregon Inlet, or the more sedate and beautiful waters of the Sounds.

The Fin 'N Feather Waterside Inn is now proud to offer fishing charters in conjunction with our motel. We are the only hotel in the northern Outer Banks that is located on the banks of Roanoke Sound and that offers fishing from our facility. Tied up right behind the motel at our 160-foot dock is a 26-foot Angler boat just waiting for your party to climb aboard for a day of adventure in our waters. The boat is fully equipped with all electronics (GPS, sounder, fish finder, CD/radio, marine radio, and more), marine head, twin Yamaha 150 engines, a live bait well, fish boxes, a T-top and canvas swim platform, and plenty of room to relax and enjoy the sun and the view. Our captains are Coast Guard certified and very knowledgeable about the local waters and fish activity. We can take you near shore (up to 3 miles out), to the Inlet, or throughout Roanoke Sound in search of striped bass (rockfish), speckled trout, flounder, cobia, mullet, spot, red drum, grey trout, black drum,. Spanish mackeral, king mackeral, to name a few (it depends, of course, on what fish are running at the time of year you come). When you return to the dock, use our fish-cleaning table and grill for your catch.

Another offering that is unique to the Fin 'N Feather Waterside Inn and Fishing Charters is the package deals that are available that include fishing and motel rooms. We offer both full day and half day fishing packages. The packages vary with the season, but no matter when you come you can save money by booking your charter and your accomodations at the same place. Nine of the rooms are efficiency units, most have water views, and all are clean, comfortable and climate-controlled. For those of you who travel with your best friend, we are now pet-friendly and allow dogs (for a small cleaning fee). Out back we have a boat launch, dock, fish-cleaning table, picnic area and charcoal grill all free for your use. Relax after a day on the water, cook up your catch and watch the sunset over the peaceful waters of the Sound.
